Season Three Pilot

This quote inspires the name of this blog and the next phase of my life. We (me, myself and I) have finished high school, graduated from university, and worked a real "adult job". Now we are quitting said job, moving back home for a bit, travelling, learning new things, and taking time to figure out what comes next. I am the youngest in my family and right on the cusp between Millennial and Gen Z. I am introverted which gives me time to watch, listen, and formulate my opinions on topics I am passionate about. I am also an environmentalist and graduated with a double major in environmental science and sustainability.

When I look at current-day North American society I see, what I like to refer to as, "society's stepping stones". There is this underlying pressure that we need to get the education, establish our career, get married, get a house, have all the babies, and then retire in that order. I feel like they don't work for me and now I have to carve a path that aligns more with what I want to accomplish. I acknowledge that I hold a certain amount of privilege to be able to make this change. I don't believe our 20s are meant to follow any kind of stepping stone because one size does not fit all. We are all just trying to figure out this thing called 'life' in the best way we know how. Hell! this mentality isn't even confined to your 20s. I wish there were a guide because it would make the turmoil of figuring this shit out on my own a lot easier, but that isn’t the way it is meant to be. 

If you knew me in high school, that was season one Vanessa. If you knew me in university and a couple of years after, that was season two of Vanessa. Now we are moving into season three Vanessa. Many changes are being made with career pivots, travelling, and education (in the non-traditional sense). We are just at the beginning of this chapter so I don't know how the rest of it will turn out. Whatever season you are in, welcome, and please subscribe if you want to follow along!

Season Three isn't a travel blog per se. I am not here to offer 'Top 10 Tourist Attractions' or 'The 5 Must-Have Items in your Suitcase'. It is a place where I can share my experiences and for anyone interested in this journey to tag along with me. After this trip is complete I don't know what this blog will turn into, but it will align with the Season Three motto nonetheless.
